I’ve worked for years with children and adults who do not speak English as their first language and am attuned to the sorts of mistakes they make. I will make sure that good ideas are presented in perfect English.

You can have the best ideas in the world, but if you don’t submit work to the highest possible standard of English, you’re not going to impress the examiner and be awarded the high grade you deserve. Indeed, almost all academic work has a number of marks allocated to it for technical accuracy – make sure you don’t lose them! And don’t forget that just one or two marks can make the difference of a grade.

Written for You will check for errors of spelling, punctuation, grammar, paragraphing, choice of word, and will either make corrections directly onto your work or, through the Track Changes facility in Word, make suggestions for improvement. This feature not only allows you to approve or reject the changes, thus allowing you to keep control of how your work is edited, it will help you to improve your writing in the future.

Why choose me instead of using the check facility on your computer?

As someone with highly developed language skills, I will find errors that cannot be picked up by automatic checkers. A computer checks blindly, ignoring mistakes like ‘form’ instead of ‘from’ or ‘affect’ when you meant ‘effect’. In other words, I will be able to tell the difference between deliberate language choices and unwanted errors. And, don’t worry, I’ll also ensure that your work uses an academic vocabulary pitched at the right level – computers won’t do that for you!
